Use of the Service
Convert Word to Excel is the service name used for the free browser-based converter at convertwordtoexcel.com and its translated pages. The current version does not require an account, subscription, payment, purchase, or software installation.
You may use the service only if you can legally agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. If you use it for an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these Terms on its behalf. If you are under the age of legal capacity where you live, use the service only with the permission and supervision required by applicable law.
You keep the rights you already have in your source documents and converted files. You must have the legal right or permission to process every file you select and must comply with copyright, confidentiality, privacy, employment, contractual, records-management, and other obligations that apply to your files.
Supported DOCX files are read in your browser using Mammoth.js, and ExcelJS creates the XLSX file on your device. The DOCX file, its file name, extracted text, and converted XLSX file are not uploaded to our servers for conversion and are not stored in the feedback database. Analytics, hosting records, and optional feedback are separate and are described in the Privacy Policy.
You may use the service for lawful personal, educational, or business purposes. You must not violate another person's rights, process unauthorized files, distribute malware, interfere with the website, bypass security or technical limits, probe for vulnerabilities, automate abusive traffic, misrepresent the service or its output, or use it for unlawful, fraudulent, harmful, or deceptive activity.
Accuracy Disclaimer
The converter focuses on extracting supported text and table structure. Word and Excel represent information differently, so formatting, formulas, images, charts, shapes, SmartArt, macros, embedded files, page layout, merged cells, headers, footers, footnotes, and other complex features may be changed, omitted, reordered, duplicated, or unsupported.
A conversion may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for its intended purpose. You are responsible for opening and reviewing every XLSX file before relying on it, sharing it, importing it into another system, or deleting any source material.
The service is a conversion utility and does not provide legal, financial, accounting, tax, medical, compliance, records-management, data-recovery, or other professional advice. Do not rely on an unreviewed conversion for safety-critical, legally significant, regulated, or other high-impact decisions. Keep the original document and an appropriate backup.
Intellectual Property
You retain the rights you already have in your document contents and converted spreadsheet contents. Using the service does not transfer those rights to the service operator.
The website's original design, text, branding, and software may be protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Third-party libraries, names, trademarks, and software remain subject to the rights and licenses of their respective owners. You may not copy, sell, sublicense, impersonate, misrepresent, or commercially exploit the website or branding except as permitted by applicable law or the relevant open-source license.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The service is provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, no express or implied warranty is made that the website, converter, or any output will be accurate, complete, reliable, available, uninterrupted, secure, compatible, fit for a particular purpose, or free from errors or harmful components.
No website or software can be guaranteed to work with every browser, device, document, or Word feature.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits a warranty, guarantee, remedy, or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the service operator and contributors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive loss, or for lost data, revenue, profit, opportunity, goodwill, or business arising from use of or inability to use the service.
